Country and Country Extra are my favorite magazines. As I stare at the beautiful photos of the countryside, I am instantly relaxed and transported to the happy, simple moments of my life. My sisters gave me Country Extra for my birthday a couple of years ago and I discovered that it has a page for people to send in experiences they have had with their wonderful neighbors. So, after I was the recipient of a special service, I decided to send my story in to the "good neighbors" page. I was surprised and delighted when I got my magazine in the mail and a letter informing me that they had published my story. I could hardly wait for my neighbor, Brenda, to get home, so I could give her my extra copy! Here is my story:
When I was pregnant with out fourth son, I had to rest and elevate my leg because of a blood clot. And it was just as the peaches on our tree reached perfect ripeness! My wonderful neighbor heard of my plight and came to help.
She picked all my peaches, took them to her house, canned them for me and brought the bottled peaches to my door the next morning! She also cooked dinner for my family so I could rest. Those peaches sure tasted extra-special--because they were canned with love.

I love that story! I can see why it made it into the magazine...it leaves a special image and feeling that I imagine a magazine called "Country" is all about.
